ALAN AHEARNE MVB
Alan Ahearne who comes from Cahir, Co Tipperary qualified from UCD Veterinary School in 1996. After leaving college he worked in Dungarvan, New Zealand and Cork before moving to Southview Veterinary Hospital in Clonmel to work with Muiris Dromey. He took over Southview in 2002 and went into partnership with Sarah Mitchell in 2003. He is doing a certificate in Canine Sports Medicine and Surgery this year. Alan and Kay have 3 children Michael, Shane and Avril.
SARAH MITCHELL MVB
Sarah Mitchell who graduated from UCD in 1993, comes from Malahide, Co Dublin. She worked in the UK and Cork in both small animal and equine practice after leaving college. She then settled in Co Tipperary and took over Peter Dougan’s veterinary practice in Clonmel in 2001. Sarah is doing a GP certificate in Small Animal Medicine at the minute. Sarah and John have 3 children Isabelle, Ben and David.
KEVIN MEANEY MVB
Kevin Meaney from Co Clare joined Southview in 2002 having qualified in 2000. He joined Alan and Sarah in partnership in 2014. Kevin who worked in Co Meath and then in the Uk after qualifying has settled into life in Clonmel in recent years and will be a familiar face to our small animal and large animal clients.
AMY FOX R.V.N.
Amy qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from Athlone Institute of Technology in 2009 . Amy who is a local girl has been working with us part time since her first year of college in 2007 and we were delighted for her to join the practice full time after qualifying. She has a dog and 3 cats, Dora, Walt, Lexi and Tinkerbell!
Aisling also qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from Athlone Institute of Technology in 2009. Aisling is also local and has been working in Kildare before joining our practice in October in 2011. She has two dogs, Rosie and Max and two ponies, Bobby and Bella!
Melissa qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from Athlone Institute of Technology in 2012. She has been working with us since she qualified and travels down from Boherlahan each day. At home Melissa has 4 cats Spew, Mitzy, Tiger Lily and Fudge and also a dog called Stringer!
Jane English joined Southview Veterinary Hospital in April 2004. Jane who has an Advanced Diploma in dog grooming established our grooming parlour many years ago now which has since become very popular and busy with our customers.
MARIE O CONNOR
Southview’s longest serving member of staff. Marie started with Muiris Dromey many years ago and is now running the office for us. Familiar to all she deals with most of the administration here and is the problem solver of the practice.
Margaret is working in Southview Veterinary Hospital since September 2007. Margaret is in charge of the TB Testing at Southview and is a familiar face to all our farming customers. She also works in reception for us.
